As Vice-Chair of Habesha Networks Tselote Hailemariam is responsible providing leadership and ensure the effective operation of the governing body and support the Chairperson with matters between meetings. She monitors and ensure the implementations of the organization strategies.

 

Tselote has a successful background as an event planner, executing signature events and programs including project management and strategic planning for organizations in the public and private sector. Currently in her role at Council on Foundations she has led the entirety of event planning and logistical efforts for dozens of Convenings ranging in size from boutique 20 person meetings to conferences with over 1000 ++ individuals. She is an integral part of the organization and is a strategic thinker that collaborates with team in other disciplines: marketing, public relations, and finance.

 

She is a Fall 2017 graduate of the prestigious Leadership Center for Excellence’s Young Professionals Program, where she honed her leadership skills, increased her network of professional contacts, and found new ways to contribute meaningfully to her community.
Working closely with foundations of all sizes and types, her current role at the Council has ignited an even deeper love for and understanding of the philanthropic sector. She is passionate about finding ways to help the Habesha community access resources and networks in ways that both maintain and strengthen their heritage, and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.
Tselote earned her Bachelors of Business Administration from Marymount University. She hails from Chicago, Illinois but lives in Northern Virginia the majority of her life. She is an active member of her local Ethiopian-Orthodox church, and loves sports, travel, and spending time with her family. She currently serves as Vice-Chairman of Habesha Networks.
